Mujingfang

Each Mujingfang tool is individually handcrafted, and where wooden wedges are used, each one is individually fitted to the plane and numbered so that they remain as a pair. Mujingfang cutting irons are made from either hand forged carbon steel, hardened to RC58, or tungsten-molybdenum HSS hardened to RC64.

Refined over generations, the traditional designs of Mujingfang tools make owning them a complete functional, ergonomic and aesthetic pleasure.

Mujingfang was founded in 1982 by Hong Kong businessman and carpentry master Man Kit Ho, who teamed up with individual craft toolmakers from Hong Kong to produce wooden planes and tools to an agreed set of designs under the Mujingfang brand. In the 30 years since, Mujingfang has grown to be one of the most highly respected hand tool brands, both in south east Asia and worldwide.

At the heart of Mujingfang is their Shifu Experience, a flagship international cultural program which invites educational institutions, corporate groups, and families to discover the art of traditional Chinese woodworking. At these historic workshops, participants learn hands-on from master craftsmen, immersing themselves in centuries-old techniques and cultural wisdom. This unique program bridges ancient craftsmanship with modern learning, offering an authentic journey into the heart of Chinese woodworking heritage.
