A sharp well tuned handsaw is a pleasure to use; smooth, precise and inherently accurate, they are a 'must have' item in every woodworkers toolbox.

The cutting range of a handsaw is between 3 and 12 teeth engaged in the timber at any one time, so a 15 tpi saw will be comfortable cutting material between 1/5" and 4/5" thick. It will be smoother on thicker material and faster on thinner material within that range.

All of our traditional western handsaws are resharpenable unless otherwise stated and we can supply saw sharpening files to suit. Most of our Japanese saws have replaceable blades.
