When both hole and plug are cut with FAMAG tooling made to 1/100th of a millimetre accuracy the result is a perfectly (almost invisibly if you match the grain up) plugged hole.
For best results use the FAMAG 1616 plug cutter to cut the plugs as close as possible to an edge of the timber with the outside of the cutter protruding from the blank, this allows the swarf to clear with each rotation.
The twin CNC sharpened cutting edges of these FAMAG 1616 plug cutters produce very accurate plugs up to 70mm long. When used in conjunction with FAMAG bits the benefits of using tooling manufactured to incredibly fine dimensional tolerances quickly becomes apparent. The fit is absolutely perfect and if the plug is taken from a slipmatched piece and carefully aligned it is possible to create an almost invisible plugged hole.
Ideal for making Dutchmen to repair flaws and knots or plugs to hide large mechanical fixings, making tenons, small turning blanks for knobs etc and large diameter dry dowels for green wood.
