Carefully selected substitutes at 4, 7 and 16.
Grown from John Manners’ planemaking business founded in 1792 on Saracen’s Lane, Glasgow (hence the star and crescent mark), Alex Mathieson’s crucible cast steel chisels, plane irons and augers provided the cutting edge of the Clyde shipbuilding industry throughout the 19th Century and right up to WW2. This near complete set of Jennings pattern auger bits are all in superb condition for their age, the lips and spurs are almost untouched.
