A small (6-1/2" cutting edge) flat, straight bladed drawknife with raised arms, nice for small stuff and fiddly spots. The arms are raised so it can be used flush with a surface if required.
Petrograd drawknives are hand forged and ground from 65G high carbon tool steel, through hardened to RC 55-58 so they can be sharpened until the blade is gone. They are fitted with proper old fashioned beech plain octagon handles and come with a beautiful handmade fully welted leather cover.
Blade width 36 mm.
Blade thickness - 6 mm.
Sharpening angle - 30 degrees.
The design of the drawknives, as well as their sharpening, is recommended by the Russian Carpenters Union for debarking and carpentry work on fitting logs. Other kinds of carpentry work may require regrinding.
Totally hand made at PETROGRAD factory of joinery and carpentry tools.
Made in Russia.
