Narex 8105 Bevel Edge Chisels

NAREX 8105 BEVEL EDGE
The 8105 range of Narex chisels, made in the Czech Republic, are accurately CNC machined on new, well maintained equipment and have the light pointable feel of a proper bevel edged chisel. The chisel sides are still a fraction thick for fine dovetailing but, as general purpose tools, Narex chisels stand head and shoulders above everything else in their price range and will give much dearer ones a very good run for their money.
The blades are forged from chrome manganese spring steel which is vastly superior to chrome vanadium, they are isothermally hardened giving an even RC59 through 75% of the blade and the backs are fractionally hollow so they are quick and easy to prepare.
The handles are stained beech, with chrome plated steel ferrules and hoops.

Narex 8116 Cabinetmakers Chisels

NAREX 8116 CABINETMAKERS
Narex 8116 chisels are the best value chisels we have found for accurate work. That doesn't mean that Narex chisels are cheap, it means you get a lot more chisel for your money.
The sides of the chisel are around 1mm with negligible lengthwise taper, giving excellent sightlines and good clearance for dovetailing throughout the life of the blade. The handles were developed from a shape that Narex last used on a range of chisels that they made in the 1930's. They are turned from dense European hornbeam, available in natural or black and fitted with a solid brass ferrule.
Workshop Heaven have had slightly smaller handles made for the 26mm and narrower chisels to refine their balance and feel - it is a subtle difference, but it's enough to make them feel 'right' in the hand.

Narex Richter Chisels

NAREX RICHTER
These superb Narex Richter bevel edged chisels bring Narex's signature blend of high quality and low price through clever engineering to the super premium end of the chisel market.
Made from a new type of steel alloyed with chromium and vanadium, it’s heat treated using a cryogenic process to maximise the formation of the desirable martensite crystalline microstructure so it's pretty close to O1 and PMV11 with astonishing edge retention. It takes ages to show the slightest hint of dulling and can be brought back to mouthwatering sharpness in moments.
With an almost a mirror finish on all surfaces, the backs almost optically flat, no undesirable rounding off of the underside of the edges which are as fine as hand ground chisels, these are suitable for the finest precision joinery.
Traditional pattern ash handles with a split-proof ground steel ferrule bearing the Richter logo and smartly trimmed with a thin leather bolster.

Narex Mortice Chisels

NAREX MORTICE
Narex mortice chisels are accurate, hard, immensely tough and seriously good value for money. Thanks to their efficient production process, Narex produce mortice chisels that are correctly profiled with a very slight taper from edge to neck so they can cut deep mortices without getting stuck.
With a bit of practice you should be able to chop a neat pair of interlocking mortices in a table leg in a couple of minutes. Narex mortice chisels are also a good deal less expensive than morticing machines, so for people making individual pieces of furniture they throw a nice chunk of money back into your budget.

Narex Paring Chisels

NAREX PARING
The Narex Paring Chisels are delightfully long and slender are a pleasure to work with.
Their gently isothermally hardened spring steel blades are inherantly stable, very slightly springy, and ground flat with a minute tolerance for concavity.
Paring chisels are elegant delicate tools designed to take carefully controlled slivers to achieve a precise fit between components. Always pushed, never struck, paring chisels are often ground at a relatively shallow angle and kept very sharp so they cut with minimal resistance.
As well as improving reach, the long blades of paring chisels make them inherently more accurate when it comes to gauging horizontal and plumb.
