Jackalberry Ebony

Jackalberry Ebony

The spectacular figure of striped African jackalberry ebony (Diospyros mespiliformis) features similar colours to those found in macassar ebony, from black through rich chocolatey browns to sparkling chatoyant gold. The stripes tend to be finer than those of macassar and there is a higher chance of hidden patches of ripple or flame revealing themselves when finish is applied.

Jakalberry ebony is anything but benign to work with, but for those that approach it with due respect, patience and care it will reward you like few other timbers on earth.
