Liogier riffler rasps are a carver's dream; light and delicate and wonderfully fine with densely stitched teeth for a superior finish.
The No.4 riffler has a sage leaf on one end, similar in section to a crossing rasp with slightly different convex curvatures on each face (flatter on the inside). The other end is a thumb, like a round ended cylinder but squashed. Both ends can be used to create grooves or depressions in flat, concave or convex surfaces; imagine ripples in cloth, facial features etc.
