Scary Sharpening

Scary Sharpening

Scary sharpening, a method of sharpening which uses sheet abrasives on glass, is not a new idea. It is however, a very effective, affordable and versatile method for sharpening chisels and plane blades - especially when using 3M microfinishing film and lapping film.

The Workshop Heaven Scary Sharpening Kit covers honing and grinding with the inclusion of the more aggressive 100 micron film for grinding, 40, 30 and 5 micron for day to day honing and some of the finest grades for situations where you need the ultimate cutting edge.

We have included the Japanese waterstone equivalent grits in the descriptions because so many people ask about them, however it is not a direct correlation, 3M lapping film tends to produce a much finer finish.
