Workshop Heaven Cabinetmakers Mallet Red Ironwood & Amazaque


Made for us by a small family firm in Birmingham England, these beautiful mallets are turned from select billets of fine native and exotic timbers.

The handle fills the hand beautifully, giving a wonderful sense of comfort and control and the balance is spot on for light to medium blows, perfect for carving or cabinetmaking.

The handle is secured in the traditional manner by a full length wedged through tenon.

Red Ironwood from West Africa, is an extremely hard timber and is used for railway sleepers, groynes and bridge planking.

Amazaque, orginates from West Africa is related to rosewood, favoured by luthiers and also known as Amazique, Ovangkol or Mozambique.
