BX1083 English Boxwood 143mm x 37mm x 42mm

10.5
Box is common as a shrub in northern latitudes and while we often we have Mediterranean grown pieces, we are lucky to have obtained some English grown timber.

The dense, uniform, creamy coloured timber is unusually stable; hence its use for making rulers and scientific instruments, it lends itself especially well to finely detailed or ornate carving.

Dense and stable, yet easy to work, the use of boxwood for turnery and making musical instruments has been recorded as far back as 2000 years ago.

Please note:

We are unable to despatch wood with bark to anywhere outside the EU. So if you would like this piece sent outside the EU, please pick the Bark Removal option and we will do it for you.
