BOX756 English Boxwood log 197mm long x 65mm diameter

English Boxwood (Buxus sempervirens) is common as a shrub in northern latitudes and while we often we have Mediterranean grown pieces, we are lucky to have obtained some English grown timber.

The dense, uniform, creamy coloured timber is unusually stable; hence its use for making rulers and scientific instruments, it lends itself especially well to finely detailed or ornate carving. Dense and stable, yet easy to work, the use of boxwood for turnery and making musical instruments has been recorded as far back as 2000 years ago.

Each log has been inidividually photographed and some may have a dryng shake running through the length - which will be shown in the image.

Length: 197mm

Diameter: 65mm

All sizes are approximate and we quote the smaller diameter and/or length size when logs are not circular and/or uneven.

Please note: We are unable to despatch wood with bark to anywhere ouside the EU.
