AISI O1 Carbon Steel

British made 3 x 40 x 500mm annealed ground flat stock. (AISI 0-1, Werk No. 1.2510, AFNOR 95 MCWV5, BS4659, B01).

O1 is a popular oil hardening steel commonly used for making knives and edge tools. It is a relatively pure carbon steel with just enough alloying elements to make it fairly well behaved and predictable. With correct heat treatment it is tough, durable and will hold a wonderful edge.
