AG061 Full Set of Ridgway Jennings Pattern Auger Bits + Extras

A very well cared for set of lightly used Jennings pattern brace shank auger bits by William Ridgway of Sheffield. sizes: 1/4" to 1" by sixteenths, plus a 1-1/4" improved pattern centre bit for counterbores for nuts etc (always cut the wide diameter first).  Also included are an unused rose countersink and a useful 3/8" screwdriver bit - ideal for stubborn screws where the huge torque of a hand brace gives you outstanding leverage and control.

The twin flutes of the 'Jennings pattern double spur extension lip auger bit' keep it nicely balanced in the hole for smooth, clean, accurate boring. The bits are forged from round bars into a flat tongue and then twisted into shape on a specially adapted lathe. The grain of the forged steel running continuously through the helix makes them very strong. The tips are formed by closed die forging and the nose threaded on a lathe before moving on to centreless grinding to accurately establish the diameter, the flutes and shanks are hand ground.

1/4" to 1" by sixteenths

plus a 1-1/4" 1066 centre bit, screwdriver bit and rose countersink

Supplied in a new British made heavy canvas auger roll.

These augers are pre-owned and not covered by our Lifetime Warranty - please see Terms and Conditions.
